Penny has experience undertaking independent assessment and conducting peer reviews for both plaintiff and defendant personal injury matters including motor vehicle accident and medical negligence claims. She is also skilled in preparing functional capacity and home and living reports for the NDIA. Penny has completed specialised training with the Australasian College of Legal Medicine in Expert Report Writing.

Penny McKay is an experienced occupational therapist with over 28 years’ practice across orthopaedics, gerontology, neurology, acquired brain injury, physical disability, and mental health in both Australia and the UK.

In addition to her private work, Penny practises part-time in an inpatient women’s mental health unit, where she has developed expertise in complex presentations, including PTSD and sexual abuse, supported by training in trauma-informed care.

Penny provides thorough, objective, evidence-based reports that directly address all questions in the brief, with clear and logical analysis. Standard turnaround time is 4–6 weeks, with urgent requests accommodated where appropriate.

Assessments are available across the Perth metropolitan area, as well as Mandurah, Bunbury, Busselton, Dunsborough, Margaret River, and Albany.
